Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a weekly, home-delivered meal program. As people age, accessing and cooking food can become a barrier to proper nutrition. If you or someone you know are unable to shop or prepare meals due to a physical or mental condition, and are homebound, the Meals on Wheels program may be a good option.
Who We Serve
The Meals on Wheels Program is available to persons 60 years of age or older, regardless of income, who are homebound because of illness, disability, or have difficulty obtaining food or meals for themselves.
Weekly Deliveries Include
- 14 nutritionally balanced and delicious meals that include frozen meals, a fresh salad, and a sandwich or wrap
- Snacks and drinks such as peanut butter and crackers, cheese, fresh fruit, yogurt, and fruit juice
- Loaf of bread
- Half-gallon milk
Entrées are planned and approved by Registered Dietitians. Ingredients used have less added sugars and are lower in sodium.
What is the Cost of Participating in the Program?
A recommended contribution of $1.80 per day is suggested but not required. No eligible person will be denied participation in the Meals on Wheels program if unable to contribute.
