The County of Santa Clara Social Services Agency provides essential safety net services and programs for children, families, elder and dependent adults. Our workforce is comprised of approximately 3,000 county employees who provide services and assistance to those in need including: child and adult protection services, family reunification, homelessness prevention, emergency response, adult protective services, cash and food assistance to name of few of our programs and services. The Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) promotes an Age-friendly community for all residents of Santa Clara County. DAAS strives to ensure a safe and independent lifestyle for older adults, dependent adults, and the disabled.
Our team provides services that promote health, nutrition, safety, and well-being to Santa Clara County residents. Our mission is to ensure that low-income individuals and families receive necessary health, nutrition, financial and employment services.
Ensures that any child or youth who is at risk or has suffered abuse or neglect is safe, cared for and in a stable, loving family. DFCS envisions a community where children and youth are safe, families and young adults are thriving, and every child and family is on path to reaching their unique potential.
Provides overall leadership and direction for the entire Agency. The Agency Office also provides administrative support to all SSA departments with the goal of increasing public understanding of the programs and for responsive and efficient services. AO includes the Directors Office, Financial Management Services (FMS), Contracts Management, Central Services (Facilities Maintenance), and Program Support, Research and Evaluation (PSRE).
