Santa Clara County Department of Family and Children Services Prevention Bureau collaborates, educates, and advocates through community-focused programs and policies. The goal of these programs and polices is to prevent maltreatment and entry into foster care, and reduce the overrepresentation of certain populations in the child welfare system. The initiative focuses on six zip codes with high rates of referrals and case openings for "General Neglect" within Santa Clara County. The initiative aims to create safe, supportive, and self-sufficient communities in which families and children have access to basic necessities that reduce the need for Child Welfare intervention.
