Steve Fondacaro joined the County of Santa Clara Social Services Agency in July 2017 as the Director of Central Services. He comes to the County with 30 years of active military duty as a Combat Arms/ Special Operations Army officer and an additional 10 years as an Army Program Manager and Strategic Defense consultant.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in National Security and Public Affairs from the Military Academy at West Point, NY. He holds three Masters' degrees from the US Army Command & General Staff College in Strategy, from the US Army School of Advanced Military Studies in Strategic Military Theater Operations and from the University of Southern California in Systems Management. He is a graduate of the US Army War College, specializing in Strategy, Northeast Asian and African Studies, and the Armed Forces Staff College, specializing in Joint Force Planning.
His personal mission is to improve government organizations and functions. He joined Santa Clara County to measurably contribute and improve its service to its workforce and its most vulnerable populations. His professional goals are to continue to advise strategic leaders and organizations on leadership development, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
