Transportation Services for Older Adults

County Programs

The County of Santa Clara provides two transportation programs, the Mobility Management Program (MMP) and Reach Your Destination Easily (RYDE).

Mobility Management Program

The Mobility Management Program provides free transportation benefits for eligible, registered dining program participants to access meal sites and engage in social interaction with others.

In FY2022, MMP helped a total of 916 participants access Senior Nutrition Program dining sites.

There are a variety of free transportation benefits available to eligible dining participants. These include monthly bus passes for participants who are 65 years of age or older, gas cards for those who are 60 years of age or older, and paratransit rides for participants 60 years of age or older with disabilities who cannot use bus and light rail transit service due to their physical, visual, or cognitive disabilities.
